Welcome to Volatile Refinery! A space mining and resource management game that pits you against the competition in a race for a planet's valuable resources.

Volatile Refinery is now available exclusively on itch.io to play in your browser.

Our tie-in to "The Guiding Hand" game jam is the "Mentor" HUD - the Habitat's computer AI system that feeds you helpful information about gameplay, resource and enemy locations, etc.

We have also included a Tutorial screen that helps you learn the game's mouse and keyboard controls, as well as the overall goal.

Volatile Refinery is Henry and Dave's first game jam together. We had a lot of fun creating it and we hope you like it! Please provide feedback of what you think and how we might be able to make the game better.

NOTE: The game is limited to an 800x600 resolution, which you can play fullscreen (upscaled) or in windowed mode within the browser. Volatile Refinery does support scrollable planet surface maps and higher screen resolutions, but we intentionally limited the scope for the game jam.
